Chris has spent the majority of his legal career working in the workers' compensation arena. Early in his career, as the in-house attorney handling workers' compensation matters for a large Georgia employer, he handled thousands of cases over the years, ranging from minor to catastrophic injuries, involving every conceivable fact pattern affecting office workers, traveling employees, physical laborers, part-time or full.
Early on, Chris noticed many workers' compensation benefit administrators followed a policy of "the less employees know, the better." This fostered distrust and a adversarial environment between management and employees. Chris worked against this approach, conducting work-related injury/illness seminars across the state for all employees and supervision. Wallet cards detailing work injury procedures, and an employee handbook were created for employees by he and his team. The Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation used this handbook as the template for its own handbook for all Georgia employees.
Workers' compensation insurance adjusters must comply with numerous statutes and rules, often within short time deadlines. Unfortunately, many adjusters are burdened with heavy caseloads and mistakes are made. A mistake in calculating the amount you will receive in weekly income benefits while your are disabled from work can cost you thousands over time.
Focus on recovering from your injury; let Chris handle the legal headaches.
